How can I obtain my form 26AS?

There are two ways to obtain form 26AS.


        Via Income Tax website
  1. Register on the website.

  1. Fill in your PAN and other details as required.
  2. Click on ‘My account’ and then ‘View form 26AS’.

  1. Once you ‘confirm’ and ‘proceed’, you can click on ‘View Tax Credit’.



  1. Select the relevant Assessment Year and the format of the Form 26-AS. You can see it as html or download as PDF.

  1. After that, enter the ‘Verification Code’ and click on ‘View/Download’. For opening the document, you have to enter the password, which is your DOB in DD/MM/YYYY format.


          Via Net Banking

Different banks use different names for Form 26AS, such as Tax Credit Statement, Income Tax Statement or Form 26AS. Individuals have their PAN number registered with their Home Branch can avail the facility of viewing Form 26AS through Net Banking. Steps to view and download Form 26AS through Net Banking are more or less similar for every bank. The main prerequisite is that the PAN Number should be linked to the bank account of the taxpayer.

 


General Steps to View Form 26AS:

  1. Login to the net banking website of bank.
  2. Choose ‘View Income Tax Statement’ or ‘View Tax Credit’ (Form 26AS)
  3. Confirm PAN details
  4. You will be redirected to the income tax website where you can download the form.
