How should I apply for a PAN Card?

To apply for a PAN Card online, follow these simple steps:

Step 1
Click on the official website of NSDL here:

Step 2:
Fill all the details required as per the documents you are submitting as proof.

Step 3:
After filling the details, choose a mode of submitting documents, either digitally or via physical copy.


Step 4:
Fill in your aadhaar/proof details for photograph

Step 5:
Fill in your personal details, like sources of income, address and contact details.
Step 6:
Choose your state and city for AO code.
Step 7:
Submit the Declaration given, and will see a success message.



Step 8:
An online copy of the PAN will be generated and sent to you on email. You can track your PAN using the token number given in the message.
Step 9:
To get a physical PAN card, you have to pay an extra fee.

 

To apply for a PAN Card offline, follow these simple steps:

Step 1:
Go to the below site for PAN Card application form 49A or 49 AA (as applicable).
Step 2:
Fill in the application in block letters and attach a recent photo. Provide your signature or thumb impression (attested) in the box given.
Step 3:
Provide your correct AO code in the application.
Step 4:
Submit the form along with ID Proof, Address Proof and processing fee at the PAN card offices. The locations of the offices in any city are given on the websites of the Income Tax Department or National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL).
