I got a Tax notice from the I-T Dept. Why was I notified?

There are several reasons why you could be notified by the Income Tax Dept.

  1. It could be an intimation of assessment of your returns.
  2. You could have a balance due.
  3. You have not submitted the required documents/proofs.
  4. You are eligible for a larger or smaller refund.
  5. I-T Dept. needs to enquire about your tax return.
  6. Additional information needs to be provided.
